Puffin is owned by Linda Kitzman and Tim Grubb. She was born with no heartbeat.
After working with her for a few minutes we had her breathing on her own and
eating. She proved to be a spectacular puppy, beautiful head and as nice of a
front and rear as anyone could hope for. She was one of those puppies that
never really got gangly. Puffin made her ring debut at 8 months in New Mexico
just weeks before the Texas National. She took reserve both days. Then she was
off to the National where she took first in her sweeps class of almost 20
bitches, first in her futurity class and reserve intersex to the futurity
winner. She was also second in the regular classes. On to the Austin specialty
and we had a repeat performance. Puffin went home to Denver and grew up for a
few months only to hit the show circuit with a bang that spring. She took five
majors in just several months to finish at 18 months. That fall Puffin came to
stay with me in Arizona for a few weeks for the specialty and a few weekends of
shows. In seven shows she took BOB and a group 4, BOS at the specialty, and 5
other times BOS in large specials entries. And all of this was out of coat!!!
When she was 3 she took a break and had a litter of puppies. Once she got her
coat back and into shape she hit the show ring with a bang, taking BOB at the
1999 National, multiple BOB's and group placements earning her an automatic
invite to Westminsiter 2000 for being ranking the #3 Samoyed as of October 31,
1999. This year she'll be out to strut her stuff in the show ring being
professionally handled by Glenn and Rebecca Lycan.
